LEGENDS CARE
LEGENDS CARE
Legends Care is the charitable arm of the National Basketball Retired Players Association and 501c3 organization.
The NBRPA’s Legends Care mission is to assist its members’ transition from playing days to life after basketball. The NBRPA develops, implements and advocates a wide array of programs to benefit its members, supporters and the community. As ambassadors to the sport of basketball, the NBRPA and its members promote the game and enhance the community through clinics, charitable outreach and other grassroots initiatives in the United States and abroad.
Through Legends Care, the NBRPA diligently dedicates itself to youth programs, scholarship funds and social awareness. The NBRPA has contributed more than $1 million to players and their children, community outreach, youth initiatives, member charities, and many more. With the help of our partners, we are striving to ensure a brighter future for all by providing more, where there is less.
The NBRPA’s Dave DeBusschere Scholarship Fund is flagship program for Legends Care. Established in 1992, this program provides college scholarship dollars to former professional basketball players and their children to help them meet the rising costs of higher education.
WHERE DOES MY MONEY GO?
When you make a donation to the National Basketball Retired Players Association you are helping to support the social and economic issues facing our membership and the community. Additionally, through Legends Care the NBRPA dedicated itself to youth programs, scholarships and social responsibility. The NBRPA established a scholarship fund in 1992. The purpose of the program is to provide scholarships to former professional basketball players and their children to help them meet the cost of higher education. In the summer of 2003, the NBRPA Scholarship Fund was renamed The Dave DeBusschere NBRPA Scholarship Fund.
